Renacer Foundation held its August Food Pantry in Azalea Park on Saturday, August 8, continuing its commitment to providing food assistance while connecting families with practical information and community resources.
Food assistance remained at the center of the event. Families attending the pantry received food support while also having an opportunity to participate in a mental wellness educational session designed around the Back to School season.

Mental Wellness Support During the Food Pantry
The educational session focused on practical ways families can manage stress and maintain healthy routines as children return to school.
Participants took part in stretching and relaxation exercises and learned about simple practices that can be incorporated into everyday life. These included going for walks, practicing breathing exercises, setting aside time for daily gratitude, and spending time outdoors and connecting with nature.
The session encouraged participants to identify realistic activities that can help reduce stress and create moments of rest and relaxation during their daily routines.

Preparing Families for Back to School
Mental wellness recommendations were also connected directly to the beginning of the school year.
Families were encouraged to organize school responsibilities ahead of time, gradually return to regular sleep schedules, establish appropriate bedtimes, and create consistent study routines.
The session also emphasized the importance of supporting children as they adjust to school responsibilities and reducing unnecessary distractions at home.
Reducing screen time and establishing clear limits for phones, tablets, television, and other electronic devices were discussed as practical ways to create more time for studying, rest, physical activity, conversation, and family interaction.
The central recommendation was clear: more connection and fewer distractions.

Community Support Beyond Food Assistance
Abrigando Corazones, Mujeres sin Límites, and Pineapple Healthcare also participated in the August Food Pantry, bringing kits for children, toys, and clothing for participating families.
Their contributions added practical support to the food assistance and educational activities offered during the event, providing families with additional items for their children as they prepared for the return to school.
The August Food Pantry reflects Renacer Foundation’s continued commitment to combining food assistance, mental wellness education, and community support in one accessible setting.
Renacer Foundation thanks the volunteers, collaborators, participating organizations, and families who made the August Food Pantry possible. Their contributions helped make the event a meaningful day of food assistance, education, and support for families in Azalea Park.
