Mental Wellness

Renacer delivers mental wellness programs, workshops, and nonclinical direct services for community members and provides mental wellness training and capacity-building support to faith-based and community nonprofits across East Orlando.

Our mental wellness track is the only FCB-approved CHW training of its kind in the region, delivered through a nonclinical model that bridges individuals to clinical care without competing with it.

We operate Bienestar Mental, our mental wellness program, within Community Health Initiatives. Bienestar Mental holds three identities at once.

1. A nonclinical direct-service program for community members. We provide bilingual, community-rooted nonclinical mental wellness services to individuals and families, including supportive listening, acculturation support, pastoral care, trauma-informed peer support, caregiver support, and navigation to clinical care when needed. Our CHWs deliver services in homes, at community events, and at the Azalea Park resilience hub, with a particular focus on East Orlando and across the Orlando urban corridor.

2. A mental wellness workshop and education platform. We host workshops for community members on stress and coping, family communication, caregiver support, the mental wellness effects of displacement and cultural transition, and practical strategies for protecting mental well-being in daily life. Our workshop curriculum draws on the research and pastoral framework of our leadership team and is designed to reach Spanish-speaking families where they are.

3. A capacity-building partner for other organizations. We provide mental wellness training, technical assistance, and referral coordination to faith-based and community nonprofits across East Orlando, strengthening the broader community's mental wellness response. This includes multi-organization cohort models designed to scale bilingual, community-rooted mental wellness response across partner organizations.

As an FCB Sole Source Provider (#5580-A), we are the only CHW training provider in the region with a mental wellness track approved at this level. Through the Bienestar Mental training track of our PUENTES curriculum, we develop the CHW workforce that delivers our direct services, leads our workshops, and staffs our partnerships with other organizations. Our leadership team is formally trained in trauma, addiction, and family and marriage counseling.

We do not position Bienestar Mental as an alternative to clinical care. We are the community infrastructure that supports recovery across all pathways. For people in active crisis when clinical care is not available, we are the trusted bridge. For people who have not yet reached out for clinical help, we are the trusted face that walks them in. For people already in care, we reinforce the plan, support family caregivers, and help each person stay connected so healing can take hold.

This work is anchored in our network of faith-based and community nonprofits across East Orlando, to whom we provide mental wellness training, technical assistance, and referral coordination through our capacity-building partnerships.
